I finally got a video of the red-shouldered hawk out of the rain! Here he/she is on a lightpost in my cul-de-sac!

They really are lovely birds. We have different hawks here but I've only seen the most common ones from a distance, apart from going to hawk flying displays.

I agree that they are quite amazing birds. Never thought I'd ever have such up close experience with them. I also just wrote a blog post about one of their feathers; reasonably sure it is a hawk...

Hmmm ... let me think about it ... nope, it's a light post or lightpost ... not lamp post. No matter how many times I try to think of it as a lamp. For the most part, lights are what's outside and...

Yes ... street lights or street lighting! And, yes ... headlights! For the life of me, can't bring myself to use lamps.
